GORDON'S BAY

A popular fishing harbour and holiday resort. Bikini Beach, small but sheltered from the wind, is popular with holiday-makers. The scenic Steenbras Dam lies at the top of the Hottentots Holland range, only a few kilometres from Gordon's Bay. Developed as a major recreational area, it also offers recreational facilities and trout fishing. A lovely coastal drive may be made from Gordon's Bay to Koegel Bay, Pringle Bay, Kleinmond, Hermanus and back over Sir Lowry's Pass.

    Gordon's Bay is a beautiful harbour village situated on the False Bay coast. Beneath the heights of the Hottentots Hollands mountains is the fishing harbour and yacht marina of this pleasant holiday centre of the eastern sector of False Bay. There are two beaches here: Bikini which is well-sheltered and Main beach  popular for watersports. A path links the two beaches. Basic facilities. Numerous cafes and restaurants close to both beaches, fishing. This is the home of the South African Naval College.

FORESTVILLE

 Nestled between the sea and the forest, Forestville is the perfect destination for lovers of wide-open spaces, authentic nature, and local discoveries. Whether you're on vacation, passing through Côte-Nord, or looking for a different kind of getaway, this town offers the perfect balance of tranquility, outdoor activities, and culture.
 

Fall in love with a fine sand beach that stretches for several kilometres along the St. Lawrence in Baie-Verte, an area that charmed Hollywood visitors during the shooting of The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. The town welcomes visitors with a scenic boardwalk, campground and activities such as golfing, fishing and hiking, or going on a ferry ride to Rimouski on the south shore aboard the CNM Evolution. The backcountry has a wide selection of controlled zones, as well as hunting and fishing camps.

MAYO

  The Mayo coastline provides a succession of remarkable views of golden beaches, cliffs and furrowed headlands. Within its rugged borders, pleasant towns and olde-worlde villages abound. The most distinctive feature of Mayo's striking landscape is Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain, which is climbed each year by barefooted pilgrims in acts of religious devotion. From the bottom it seems cone-shaped, an impression dispelled by climbing to its flat peak. From the start of the trail at Campbell’s Pub in Murrisk, where there is a huge statue of the saint, it is a two-hour climb to the top, at 765 m.

    Westport is a neat town and has a bustling, prosperous air. Just west of the town is the Carrowbeg estuary and Clew Bay. At the head of the bay stands Westport House, the seat of the Earls of Altamont, descendants of the Browne family, who were Tudor settlers. The limestone mansion stands on the site of an O’Malley castle. Its imposing interior is adorned with family portraits. There is also a boating lake, miniature railway, museum and a Pirate Adventure Park for children.

BECKLEY

An industrial community surrounded by rich farming area. It is the geographic center and largest city of the great smokeless coal region of southern West Virginia. Beckley is the contemporary hub of the New River/Greenbrier Valley region. The city of Beckley grew with the post-Civil War fortunes of coal. Most of today's commerce is carried on in the malls that sprawl around the city, but uptown Beckley preserves the heart of the old town with shops, entertainment in the town square and the Rhododendron Festival each May.

 
Beckley's New River Park, open spring through fall, provides an excellent introduction to oldtime coal culture. At the Exhibition Coal Mine, real miners take visitors for an authentic 45 minute journey underground into the 1890s when workers dug out their livings with picks and shovels. Next door in the Coal Museum, the history of the local industry is depicted in artifacts and photographs. New River Park offers great wooded spaces, a playground, pool and waterslide.

ANTIGUA

  FOR SUN AND FUN VISIT ANTIGUA

Head to Antigua if you're looking for something very British, very jet set - with three casinos, water sports galore and 365 white sand beaches to boot. St. John's, the nation's capital and a popular port, sports high-style boutiques, fine restaurants and exciting nightlife. Also a must: a visit to Admiral Nelson's Dockyard at English Harbour, once a major port for the British navy and now a yacht haven and national park. It's the hub of activity for Antigua Race Week, world class yacht racing and fun.

Fresh seafood. And, of course, rum-kissed drinks. Antigua offers visitors a special opportunity to indulge in a wide variety of shopping. You'll find everything from sophisticated international fare to handmade island arts and crafts. The local market in the south end of St John's is a riot of colourful fruits, vegetables and spices, and people haggling for them.

VANDERBIJLPARK

 The geographical centre of the Vaal Triangle. A modern industrial town, on the Vaal River, developed when Iscor erected a steel foundry in the area. 10 km from the town is a small airfield.

SPORT
Sports facilities include swimming, tenpin bowling, roller-skating, golf and squash. Within the town are two recreational resorts with barbeque facilities and water sports. The nearby Vaal Dam provides a venue for power boating, sailing, and angling.

WINDSOR

 With a crucial position on the Detroit River, Windsor was an area of friction between British, French and American interests starting almost with the arrival of the first missionaries around 1640. The city possesses a fine university and attractive parks, especially Jackson Park with its sunken gardens, and Dieppe Gardens, right on the river.

BURY ST. EDMUNDS

 This charming market town has much Georgian and medieval architecture, arranged on an original Norman layout. Bury (pronounced "berry") developed around its abbey (now in ruins but with pretty gardens) which was founded in AD 945 to house the shrine of King Edmund. St. Mary's Church, with its magnificent hammer-beam roof, is more noteworthy than the cathedral. Also worth seeing out are the 15-th century guildhall, the town hall, the Georgian playhouse, and the Queen Anne manor house, which has a large collection of watches and clocks.

DICKENSIAN ASSOCIATIONS

Before the abbey in Bury St. Edmunds is a sloping plain called Angel Hill, where Angel Hotel can be found. This was made famous by Charles Dickens as his character Mr. Pickwick stayed here in the novel The Pickwick Papers.

MEDORA

     The historic Old West town of Medora is the front gate to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and quite an attraction itself. The famous Medora Musical lights up the Burning Hills Amphitheater nightly in the summer. Sunset playing across the Bad Lands compete with the professional cast for the audience's attention. Medora's boardwalks are lined with curio shops, shooting galleries, Western museums and authentic, preserved reminders of its rough-and-ready past, including saloons with swinging doors and the Roughrider Hotel where Teddy stayed.

 A popular family activity and a great way  to see the Bad Lands is a trail ride, which can vary from one hour to several days. Brimming with campgrounds, shops and 350 motel rooms, Medora is North Dakota's tourist spot. Where City Slickers Become Rough Riders. Bully Good Times in Medora!

KOROLEVU BEACH

 The South Pacific! The very name stirs the mind and excites the imagination. The allure of the South Pacific is still as strong today as it was hundreds of years ago when traders and adventurers first discovered the delights of this exciting and unique part of the world. The South Pacific is still one of the last great, undiscovered, frontiers of the world. The Fiji archipelago includes more than 300 islands in the Southwest Pacific Ocean. The main islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu comprise 85% of the total land mass. The larger islands are primarily volcanic in origin with high rugged peaks.
