BLUE BAY

the most cosmopolitan island in the sun

Mauritius basks in splendid isolation in the bosom of the warmest ocean of all, the Indian Ocean, just inside the tropic of Capricorn, bounded by Africa, India and Australia. No highrise, non concrete jungles. No charter flights, no mass tourism. No social or environmental pollution. Only virgin beaches embraced by coral reefs, translucent sea lagoons, weird and wonderful landscapes, chic hotels, sophisticated cuisine, charming, cosmopolitan people, civilised politics - like a paradise free from original sin. No wonder Mark Twain was moved to exclaim that God modelled heaven on Mauritius.

BLUE BAY

Mauritius is embraced by a spectacular coral reefs which transforms the mighty Indian Ocean into costal lagoons as calm as a baby's bath, laced with golden, powder-soft coral beaches, fringed with exotic coconut palms and casuarinas. These lagoon waters are a blend of exotic shades of blue, green turquoise and indigo and astonishingly translucent. The beaches are among this coral island's most prized treasures unsurpassed anywhere in the world for their quality or beauty. Certainly, there's no place on earth like it!

The fun begins with beach volleyball, and riding a windsurfer over the waves is guaranteed to make your heart pound! Stretch out on warm, sea-washed sand, unwind with a swim through the bay's lightly-brined water. By evening you'll be ready for a moonlight stroll along a moon-silvered sandbar.
