WYANDOTTE, MICHIGAN

 

The Annual Wyandotte Street Art Fair

Incorporated in 1867, the City of Wyandotte is often described as the ‘Heart of Downriver’. A waterfront community, Wyandotte is rich in history and is known for its distinctive architecture, charming downtown district and a variety of cultural offerings. Wyandotte is well known for its community events, beautiful historical Museum, festivals and annual Wyandotte Street Art Fair. The Fair is traditionally held the second week of July each year. This popular event combines over 400 talented craftsmen and artists in a festive atmosphere. Special children's shows, street musicians and entertainers, along with delicious food booths provides something for everyone.




The purpose of the Wyandotte Street Art Fair is:

  • To promote and expand community awareness of the creative arts through quality exhibits that provide meaningful, cultural enrichment.
  • To offer the artist and visitor alike the opportunity to meet one another in a hospitable and festive atmosphere
  • To stimulate a sense of civic unity and pride through the dynamics of cultural understanding

CLEVELAND

Cleveland, located in the State of Ohio within Cuyahoga County, is on the southern shore of Lake Erie, part of the Great Lakes Region. It is the 18th largest metro area and 15th largest consumer market in the United States with nearly 3 million residents in Greater Cleveland metro and nearly 400,000 in the City of Cleveland. LifeSavers candy, the modern golf ball and the electric streetlight are all Cleveland firsts invented right here in Cleveland. Cleveland is the home of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman. Oscar winners Paul Newman and Halle Berry hail from the region.


The "Best Location in the Nation" is the claim of this world port located on Lake Erie. The 52-story Terminal Tower (center) is a Cleveland landmark. Lakefront Stadium (left) is home of Cleveland's Indians baseball and Browns fooball. Over 2 million people live in metropolitan Cleveland.
 

The 52-story Terminal Tower splits the Cleveland skyline like a towering cloud buster. Its rightfully a city symbol. At the towers base is the renovated Regional Transit Authoritys light rail system. Inside is the ornate Tower City Center, home to a retail mall, food court, cinema, and a rich selection of hotels and restaurants.

CHICAGO

Wringley Field 

Baseball is a popular American sport. Chicago has two professional baseball teams. The Chicago Cubs play at Wringley FieldBuilt in 1914, Wringley Field is the second oldest major league ballpark in the country. The stadium first welcomed the Chicago Cubs in 1916 and the two have been synonymous ever since. Wringley Field is the nation's most picturesque ballpark with its ivy-covered brick outfield walls and the manually operated scoreboard.
